Full body lift harness for senior dogs

When the front legs need a hand too.
Some dogs lose the back end first. Some lose the front. Some lose a little of both, gradually, over a long stretch. This full body harness has two padded panels and two top handles – one for the chest, one for the hips – so the lift comes from wherever the dog needs it on a given day.

Find the right size
Measure the chest girth just behind the front legs and the waist just in front of the hind legs while the dog stands on a flat surface. When between sizes, size up. The adjustable straps absorb most of the difference.
| Size | Waist circumference | Dog weight |
|---|---|---|
| S | 13 to 17 in | 16 to 28 lb |
| M | 16 to 21 in | 28 to 45 lb |
| L | 20 to 28 in | 45 to 66 lb |
| XL | 26 to 33 in | 66 to 100 lb |

Frequently asked questions
Both. There are two padded panels – one wraps under the chest and one wraps under the hindquarters – with a top handle on each. Lift from the chest, the hips, or both at once depending on what the dog needs at that moment.
The Rear Leg Lift Harness focuses on the hind end. This full body version adds a chest panel and a second handle so the front end gets the same kind of assist. Pick this one if both ends of the dog seem to need a hand, or if the dog struggles with the first step up onto stairs or into the car.
Hook-and-loop straps and quick-release buckles secure each panel to the body. Once dialed in for a specific dog, the fit holds during normal walking and lifting. Any harness can shift a little during very active movement, but the front and rear panels each stay anchored on their own.
Both panels open flat and wrap up from underneath, so the harness can be put on a resting dog without making her stand. Slide the chest panel under the front legs and the hip panel under the rear, then fasten the straps.
Both panels have a soft inner lining, foam padding along the underside, and no metal hardware against the dog's body. The handles are foam-wrapped so the lifter's hand stays comfortable on longer outings as well.
Yes. Use the rear handle to take weight off the back end while the dog's front legs do the step up. For larger dogs, lift from both handles at once to assist over the lip of the trunk or back seat.
This harness can carry some of the back end for short distances, but it works best for dogs who still have some strength in their hind legs. For dogs who can't bear any weight on the back legs at all, a dog wheelchair will serve them better. For dogs in between, this can extend the kinds of outings they can join in on.
Most dogs adjust within a few short sessions. Start indoors with brief wear times, use treats, and build up to longer outings. The padded design tends to feel less intrusive than a thinner sling, so dogs who fuss with standard harnesses often accept this one quickly.
